The JPS edition of The Torah: The Five Books of Moses is a book that should be in every Jewish home. [Christians can also benefit from knowing how the people of the book read the book.] Hebrew Union College Professor of Bible Harry Orlinsky led a team of scholars and rabbis that labored many years to produce this edition that is based on the tradional Hebrew Masoretic text , the insights of Jewish scholars from antiquity throught the 20th century, and the latest findings of archaeology and studies of the languages and cultures of the ancient Near East.
