About the AuthorFloyd Vogt is a sixth generation carpenter/contractor. He was raised in a family with a small business devoted to all phases of home construction and began working in the family business at age 15. After completing a B.A. in chemistry from the State University of New York College at Oneonta, Mr. Vogt returned to the field as a self-employed re-modeler. In 1985, he began teaching at SUNY Delhi College of Technology in Delhi, NY. He is currently an Associate Professor of carpentry at Delhi, where he has taught many courses, including Light Framing, Advanced Framing, Math, Energy Efficient Construction, Finish Carpentry, and Estimating. Mr. Vogt is a Carpentry regional coordinator for Skills USA and serves as a post-secondary Skills USA student advisor.
