Synopsis:

When this novel appeared in 1999. it became a publishing sensation in the author's native Norway, sitting at the top of the best-seller list for over a year. The twenty-five-year-old unnamed narrator of Naive. Super quits college in search of a raison d'etre. He begins to write lists. He becomes obsessed by time and whether it actually matters. he befrineds a small boy who lives next door. He yearns to get to the bottom of lifef and how best to live it. Set partly in New York, this deceptively simple, highly enigmatic, deeply odd, and hysterically funny debut sets out to answer life's big questions.

Troubled by an inability to find any meaning in his life, the 25-year-old narrator of this novel quits university in an attempt to discover a "raison d'etre". He recounts a series of anecdotes, which culminate in a trip to stay with his brother in New York.
