Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

A remarkable novel about a man who fell in love at the age of ten and wrote a book in the young girl's honour. Now 60 years on, his life in America is turned upside down when a young girl tracks down the author of a book, which changed her lonely mother's life forever. A captivating story of the power of love, loneliness and of survival. It was a Radio 4 Book at Bedtime and the film rights have been bought by Warner Bros. 'This is undoubtedly the work of a formidably talented novelist' "Independent" *** Richard & Judy Selected Title - Available Now ***

It's not often that you find a piece of literature that is both entertaining and deeply satisfying. Nicole Krauss has managed to write a story so touching that even a month after finishing it, I still can't stop thinking about it. Alma and Leo have opened my eyes about how I view others. I definitely recommend it- an A+ read.
