About the Author

Inderjit Badhwar was born in rural India in Ujhani, a northern dustbowl market town. After completing his education at St. Stephen's College, Delhi, he moved to the United States in 1968 and graduated from the Columbia School of Journalism. He won the school's Intenational Henry Taylor award. After writing for several American publications he joined syndicated columnist Jack Anderson's staff as a senior investigative reporter and feature writer. Durng the six years that he worked for Anderson, Badhwar also functioned as the chief correspondent for the television program Jack Anderson Confidential. Badhwar returned to India in 1986 and became the executive editor of India Today. He spent ten years with the magazine and then joined Media Transasia's group of magazines as editor-in-chief.
