Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Cyan was named after a shade of blue, her artist mothers favorite color. The color of the sea. Since her fathers death last year, shes felt just as mercurial and dark as her namesake, and the distance between Cyan and her mother has grown as wide as an ocean. Now theyre returning to the island of Curaçao in the Caribbean, where her fathers mysterious accident occurred, and joining them will be Kammiwho may soon become a stepsister. Haunted by the secrets of the past, Cyan will explore all the depths of her blueness this summer, discovering the light, the darkness, and the many shades in between that are within herand within us all.

Synopsis:

Zazoo is Vietnamese by birth but feels entirely French. She has lived with her adoptive Grand-Pierre in France in an old stone mill between the river and the canal since she was two, sharing poetry, adventures, and the predictable rhythms of the seasons. Then one misty October morning, a young man on a bicycle rides into Zazoos small village and asks a question from which many stories begin to unfold. A love story within a love story.
