I was given this book on my 6th birthday and it has stayed on my shelf ever since. "The Purple Cow" was the first poem I ever memorized (every one of the four whole lines) and it is one, like countless others in this book, which brings a smile to any listener or reader's face. As a recent college grad, I still love pulling it out on occasion to read with a friend or discuss the wonderful watercolor illustrations. Shel Silverstein has nothin on this collection...
