Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Darren was just an ordinary schoolboy — until his visit to the Cirque Du Freak. Now Darren, the vampire's assistant, gets a taste of the city when he leaves the Cirque Du Freak with Evra and Mr. Crepsley — but so, it seems, does something else. When corpses are discovered — corpses drained of blood — Darren and Evra are compelled to confront a foul creature of the night, who may prove to be the end of them all. Beneath the streets, evil stalks Darren and his friends. Can they escape, or are they doomed to perish in the tunnels of blood?

The gut-wrenching sequel to the New York Times bestseller Cirque Du Freak and The Vampire's Assistant, Tunnels of Blood continues the saga of Darren Shan. Filled with grotesque creatures, murderous vampires, and an unexpected ending, Tunnels of Blood will chill, thrill, and leave readers begging for more.

Review:

"[Tunnels of Blood and Vampire Mountain] combine suspense with gory yet fascinating detail, occasional pathos, and even a bit of humor. The cliffhanging ending promises more to come. Two thumping good reads for fans." Debbie Carton, Booklist

Review:

"Shan will continue to draw Goosebumps graduates with this third installment in the series....The story is compulsively readable, but it's not for the squeamish." School Library Journal

Review:

"After a dark, suspenseful chase of Murlough, Darren shows his resourcefulness in overcoming evil. Darren Shan is building a loyal following with his highly original, highly creative, deliciously creepy tales." Christopher Moning, Children's Literature

Review:

"[S]ure to please readers of the first two books....For those fans of Buffy and Angel, here is another book to satisfy their vampiric tastes." VOYA
