i think that this book consists of many useful material that young children can use in heir everyday lives. I also think that this book is enjoyable from beginnning to end. Brava to Lensey Namioka for another excellent novel.

This book is a great book portraying the cultural differences and the great hardships China was facing at the time, both culturally and governmentally. Using a parallel of the family and the country, this piece of literature has the grace and depth that any book can have.
