Like all the best works of horror, this modern novel is populated with a cast of varied, well-drawn characters, innocent and/or villainous, who are each tested in pivotal plot points. While there is certainly a great deal of ghastly ambiance, spine-tingling terror, and, of course, evil, Ghost Ocean is among the best literature in the way it leaves you pondering the power of choice and exactly what it means to be human.
