Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Austen's last novel is the crowning achievment of her matchless career. Her heroine, Anne Elliot, a woman of integrity, breeding and great depth of emotion, stands in stark contrast to the brutality and hypocrisy of Regency England. Includes an Introduction by Margaret Drabble, famed novelist and editor of The Oxford Companion to the English Language.

Synopsis:

A sparkling love story set at a seaside resort-now in a new package

When the man whose proposal she rejected returns from his long military tour at sea, Anne Elliot is forced to face the decision she made eight years ago-along with the man she's never stopped loving.

Includes bibliographical references (p. [284]-285).

This wonderful novel by one of the most well acclaimed authors, Jane Austen, captures the true wonders of the woman spirit. This novel pinpoints the ideas of how a woman can suffer under love, and how she can overcome it with persistent care and love. I would share this truly wonderful novel for anyone who has been in love.
