Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

The porcine recipient of a 2001 Caldecott Honor Award makes her third appearance in a deliciously funny story that's sure to strike a chord in preschoolers everywhere. Olivia has one special toy that she adores — a stuffed animal that she dresses and puts lipstick on and takes everywhere. But one day it strangely... inexplicably... tragically!... vanishes. Who is the culprit? With all the suspense of a Daphne du Maurier novel, and all the humor of, well, Olivia herself, Ian Falconer's creation outdoes herself in a mystery/picture book sure to become as beloved as its predecessors.

Review:

"The line-master is back...in perfect form....The heightened atmosphere and melodrama suit Olivia just perfectly." Kirkus Reviews

Review:

"This book gets everything right; the story is simple yet compelling, and Falconer's art is as imaginative and inventive as ever." Booklist

Review:

"Though it hardly seems possible, Falconer's visual and verbal narrative talents continue to grow. And so will Olivia's devotees." Publishers Weekly
