Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Featuring up-to-the-minute discoveries and state-of-the-art space photography, this atlas illustrates all that science has revealed about constellations, the evolution of stars and galaxies, and the planets in the solar system. Acetate overlays highlight special points of interest to show even more about what we see in the night sky.

Review:

"The information is concise, yet the author does not shy away from complex topics such as parallax and red shifts. Profusely and beautifully illustrated, the book features numerous pictures of celestial objects and clear, easy-to-understand diagrams." School Library Journal

Review:

"This large, spiral-bound atlas is crammed with information about the solar system, life of stars, and directions for star gazing." Hornbook Guide to Children

My son checked this book out at his school library and loved it. We got the telescope out and used the book to find places in the sky. I am going to get him a copy for Christmas for using at home. He is 9 so the book was geared towards his age.
