No other sports cars embody automotive passion better then those produced by Ferrari. From the record-setting Formula One race cars produced by Scuderia Ferrari to the exquisite road cars created in Maranello, Italy, Ferrari has produced some of the most sensuous vehicles ever created.
Ferrari: Stories from Those Who Lived the Legend tells the complete story of this fabled marque. Long-time Road & Track writer and photographer John Lamm sought out the men and women who breathed life into the legend—famed racers like Mario Andretti, Dan Gurney, Phil Hill, Dario Franchetti, Sam Posey, and Carroll Shelby; designers Sergio Scaglietti, Giorgetto Giugiaro, and Sergio Pininfarina; and Ferrari fans like Ralph Lauren—letting each tell their personal Ferrari story. These first-hand tales join with historical photography and Lamm’s beautiful images to make Ferrari: Stories from Those Who Lived the Legend a look into Ferrari like no other.
“Every detail on the car is an art piece as far as I’m concerned.”
—Ralph Lauren, Designer
“To Mr. Chinetti, a car was a Ferrari. There was no other car. If they weren’t Ferraris, they were just contraptions.”
—Sam Posey, Artist
“Maranello is still a village, it’s still Maranello; it’s not New York or Rome, and so our link with the territory remains very strong.”
—Luca di Montezemolo, Chairman, Ferrari S.p.A.
Exquisitely illustrated, Ferrari: Stories from Those Who Lived the Legend tells the complete story of the world’s most famed sports and racing car that is like no other.
