Will anything wake Lydia Lou? A new picture book from the author of The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom.

A little ghost tries to give Lydia Lou a scare, but he can't even wake her up. So he fetches his noisy animal friends to help.

Mew! Moo! Too-whit too-whoo!

Wake up do, Lydia Lou!

Will anything ever wake her? A gentle and playful bedtime read, full of fun sounds which children will love to join in with time and time again.

Great fun, especially if you read the characters in different voices. The cadence and rhyming makes it easy to read, and there's even continuity between sections that are pages apart (the dog is keen, the bird is green, the frog is clean, and the dragon is mean). The illustrations are well done and go nicely with the text.

I bought this in board book format when my boys were a little under a year old, though I planned to save it for later; I assumed it wouldn't interest them yet. I was wrong. They LOVED it. In my opinion, this is a classic in the making.
