Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Two thousand years have passed since the death of Christ and the world is going mad. Nihilist prophets, born-again pornographers, transcendental schizophrenics and just plain folks are united in their belief in an imminent global catastrophe. What are the forces lurking behind this mass delirium?

Apocolypse Culture is a startling, absorbng and exhaustive tour through the nether regions of today's psychotic landscape.

Review:

"Parfrey has edited a new book of Revelation, a collection which is almost as awesome and terrifying as the original biblical text. NME

Review:

"Apocalypse Culture is compulsory reading for all those concerned with the crisis of our times. An extraordinary collection unlike anything I have ever encountered. These are the terminal documents of the twentieth century." J.G. Ballard

Synopsis:

An unorthodox sociological approach to contemporary apocalyptic thought.

About the Author

Since his influential collection, Apocalypse Culture, was first released in 1987, the award-winning writer Adam Parfrey has been credited for discovering and revealing the inner workings of cults and unusual pop culture histories. With "Love, Sex, Fear, Death," Parfrey has captured the cooperation of primary players in the most secretive and talked about cult of our time.

Prepare to be disturbed and amused. What you will read within these pages will challenge your feelings on humanity. Let's face it, if you sought this book out, chances are you don't really have high expectations of people and their utter strangeness, but you will find something here to surprise you.

If you live a sheltered life, this will destroy you. If you have an appreciation of the fringe and haven't read this, well, you have no idea how deep that appreciation can get.

Enjoy.
