Ron Padgett was born in Tulsa in 1942. With Ted Berrigan and others, Padgett reinvented the New York School of poetry in the mid-1960s. Also a distinguished translator of modern French poetry, he has published 15 books of his own, including Great Balls of Fire, and has been honored by a Guggenheim and an American Academy of Arts and Letters poetry award. Padgett lives in New York City.

About the Author

Poet, translator, and memoirist, Ron Padgett grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and lives in New York City and Vermont. His recent books include Oklahoma Tough: My Father, King of the Tulsa Bootleggers and You Never Know. In 2001, Padgett was made an Officer in the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication.

Another sock blowing book by Ron Padgett! A great book for a relaxing evening next to the fire, with a cup of tea. His work is a masterpiece!
