Publisher Comments:

"My profession is always to be alert, to find God in nature, " Henry David Thoreau wrote. Buddha said, "If you wish to know the divine, feel the wind on your face and the warm sun on your hand." Earth's Echo is a book for people who love nature and find spiritual meaning in it. Anyone who looks and notices what they see can find God in the world around them. Using brief excerpts from the works of nature writers as touchstones for meditation, Earth's Echo leads readers to reflect on the sacred reality of nature as found in different settings: the seashore, the river, the forest, the desert, and the mountains. Earth's Echo heightens the sense of awe and experience of the divine in any place, at any moment.

I keep a copy with me at work. From the windows of my office I can see the distant hills, but Hamma takes me there. When I need to touch the earth in a few moments I can read a passage and return to my work refreshed.
