About the AuthorJo Sprague is Professor Emeritus of Communication Studies at San Jose State University, where she also served as Associate Director of the Center for Faculty Development and Support. In addition to her research on critiquing, teaching, and the scholarship of speech communications, she has served as President of the Western States Communication Association. Dr. David Bodary is a professor of Communication Arts at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio. He has received the Meritorious Teaching Award many times during his teaching career and recently served as Chair of the Community College Section at the National Communication Association. He continues to serve on various association committees as he leads this edition and future editions of THE SPEAKER'S HANDBOOK. Dr. Bodary earned his PhD in 1999 from Wayne State University.
