America's Tunnel Vision- How Insurance Companies' Propaganda Is Corrupting Medicine & Law came attached with a pleasant surprise. Having had personal experience struggling to feel secure under my current health plan I set out to read this book expecting it to be chalked full of medical malpractice litigation history and a heap of healthcare consumer tips. That was delivered, however the surprise is how author Michael Townes Watson makes it interesting for the entire length of the book. Personal tales of representing victims of medical error are so carefully and cleverly intertwined with valuble consumer education that at times it is extremely easy to forget you are reading a work of non-fiction. I loaned this book to a co-worker and she returned it two days later finished and sharing the same sentiment I did regarding the book. I have never written a review before, but thought I should spend a couple of minutes supporting this book that gave me more than I bargained for. This little book should surprise you as well.
