About the Author

Anne Lee is a business professional who has graduated from bicycling for enjoyment and recreation to a full-fledged bicycle commuter.

After spending most of her career in banking, Annechanged directions and joined three colleagues and began her own business. Together they published a weekly help-wanted newspaper dedicated to the job seeker in Maine and Southern New Hampshire.

After five years, Anne left the business and became the Executive Director of the YWCA in Lewiston, Maine, but when her father’s health deteriorated, she joined him in South Carolina to care for him and his household.

A year of caretaking put things in perspective and when her tour of duty was completed, she headed to the west coast to be closer to her children. Lee chose Portland, Oregon as her new home because of the City’s commitment to urban planning, sustainability, and bicycling. She joined the Community Cycling Center as Deputy Director and proudly joined the bicycle community in Portland.
