Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Kidnapped and taken to a frozen land after the fierce battle with Lord Morgarath, Will and Evanlyn are bound for Skandia as captives aboard a fearsome wolfship. Halt has sworn to rescue his young apprentice, and he will do anything to keep his promise — even defy his King. Expelled from the Rangers he has served so loyally, Halt is joined by Will's friend Horace as he travels toward Skandia. On their way, they are challenged again and again by freelance knights — but Horace knows a thing or two about combat. Soon his skills begin to attract the attention of knights and warlords for miles around.

Review:

"Although the premise of a knightly tale has graced many books, this adventure goes beyond that with its strong character voice, swashbuckling action, and unexpected twist and turns of the plot." Children's Literature

Review:

"This series has the makings of being very long and drawn out, which probably will not bother the author's fans in the least." VOYA

Synopsis:

In a kingdom at war, the line between good and evil becomes blurred . . .

In this third book in the Wereworld saga, werewolf and rightful king of Lyssia Drew Ferran must battle his way off a bleak volcanic island where he's being held prisoner. With the help of a motley crew of enslaved Werelords, he escapes and embarks on an urgent quest to find the long-lost tribe of Hawklords in the distant reaches of the kingdom. Meanwhile, Drew's old friends find themselves on a dangerous high seas mission plagued by misfortune and the influence of dark magick that threatens to tempt even the purest heart.

Synopsis:

The story that brings the Ranger's Apprentice arc full-circle!

Will Treaty has come a long way from the small boy with dreams of knighthood. To add to his problems, the time has come to take on an apprentice of his own, and its the last person he ever would have expected. Fighting his personal demons, Will has to win the trust and respect of his difficult new companion—a task that at times seems almost impossible.

About the Author

John Flanagan grew up in Sydney, Australia, hoping to be a writer. It wasn't until he wrote a highly uncomplimentary poem about a senior executive at the agency where he worked, however, that his talent was revealed. It turned out one of the company directors agreed with John's assessment of the executive, and happily agreed to train John in copywriting. After writing advertising copy for the next two decades, John teamed with an old friend to develop a television sitcom, Hey Dad!, which went on to air for eight years. John began writing Ranger's Apprentice for his son, Michael, ten years ago, and is still hard at work on the series. He currently lives in the suburb of Manly, Australia, with his wife. In addition to their son, they have two grown daughters and four grandsons.
