Since the early 1970s, more than 250,000 bread lovers have relied on Beard on Bread to show them exactly how to make the most out-of-this-world breads imaginable. Now, this classic collection of 100 scrumptuous bread recipes is available in a new trade paperback edition featuring more than 90 illustrations by Karl Stuecklen.

My mother has a copy of this book which is now worn to bits! I first learned how to make bread with recipes from this and Beard's recipes remain the favourite picks of my family when I ask for advice on what type of bread to make, be it for sandwiches, toast, to go with soup . . .
The recipes are very versatile, which is great since I don't always stock my kitchen as well as I could. That brings me to the absolute best recipe from it, in my opinion, which is the "Graham Flour" recipe if you make it with whole wheat flour (I did, by happy mistake, and have been making it this way for ages).
I recommend this book for anyone--for the beginner, for the home-baker, for the experienced person who wants recipes to rely upon or experiment with!
Five stars. Two thumbs up. Four mice. Three happy people rubbing their tummies and making MMMMM noises.
