While I applaud the idea behind the book (a handsomely illustrated collection of classic cocktails), the execution is lacking. This might be a nice gift book for somebody just getting into cocktails, but for those familiar with many of the drinks (Manhattan, Sazerac, Negroni, etc.) this doesn't offer much new, aside from some pretty pictures. Ted Haigh's "Vintage Spirits and Forgotten Cocktails" is a far better introduction.
