The 10th edition of this textbook presents numerous changes, the most noticeable being that all the illustrations are now in color. Four chapters are new: oral malodor, host modulation agents, advances in implant surgical technology, and dental insurance and managed care. Other chapters have been revised. Also new is the addition of 'science transfer' inset boxes within chapters that provide additional detail about techniques or the scientific basis of procedures.
