Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Brave New Burma is an intimate portrait in words and pictures of a country finally emerging from decades of dictatorship, isolation, and fear. Nic Dunlop documents the plight of the people of Burma, from the front lines of the ongoing civil war to deceptively tranquil cities firmly under military control, a secretive and brutal world.

Synopsis:

Dunlop documents the plight of the people of Burma; from the frontlines of the ongoing civil war to deceptively tranquil cities firmly under military control, a secretive and brutal world. More importantly it is also a journey to understand how the people of Burma have been held hostage by a military that has turned its guns on its own people.
