About the Author

Alter Dean Myers is the renowned author of Game; Street Love; Autobiography of My Dead Brother, a National Book Award Finalist; Shooter; Monster, the first winner of the Michael L. Printz Award; The Dream Bearer; Handbook for Boys: A Novel; Bad Boy: A Memoir; and the Newbery Honor Books Scorpions and Somewhere in the Darkness. Walter was selected by the American Library Association to deliver the prestigious 2009 May Hill Arbuthnot Honor Lecture. He lives with his family in Jersey City, New Jersey.
