Publisher Comments:

For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself—and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

About the Author

Kiera Cass is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Selection series. She is a graduate of Radford University and currently lives in Christiansburg, VA, with her family. Kiera has kissed approximately fourteen boys in her life. None of them were princes.

Wow. this book was so good, but It is stressing me out, wondering who she will choose, who he will choose-- I don't like Love Triangles, let alone a Love Octagon (a 8 sided shape, since their are 5 girls, America, Maxon, and Aspen in it -_- ) So I'm very antsy to find out if Maxerica will make it to the end!

My 12 year old and 9 year old daughter and I all read and loved this book.
We then read the second book in the series and are eagerly awaiting the third.
We are enjoying that we all love the book and can take turns guessing what will
happen and wondering which of us is right.
