Synopsis:

As the community lines up to judge the woman and her miracle, Dellarobia confronts her family, her church, her town, and a larger world, in a flight toward truth that could undo all she has ever believed.

Flight Behavior takes on one of the most contentious subjects of our time: climate change. With a deft and versatile empathy Kingsolver dissects the motives that drive denial and belief in a precarious world.

About the Author

Barbara Kingsolver is the author of seven works of fiction, including the novels The Poisonwood Bible, Animal Dreams, and The Bean Trees, as well as books of poetry, essays, and creative nonfiction such as Animal, Vegetable, Miracle. In 2000, she was awarded the National Humanities Medal, our country's highest honor for service through the arts. She lives with her family on a farm in southern Appalachia.

A Great Read! One of the best books I've listened to this year. When it comes to Barbara Kingsolver I enjoy listening to her books much more that reading her books. I have listened to many books by this author and it will not be my last. She tackles interesting subjects and includes very colorful characters to complete the whole picture. The main character in this story was very likeable. A very enjoyable read. Highly Reccommended! I also reccommend The Bean Trees and the sequel to this book.

I'm listening to this story for the second time straight through. At first, Kingslover's cadence as the narrator wasn't in tune to my ear, but as the story progressed, I came to love the soft southern lilt.

The language is truly beautiful. I've had to rewind to re-hear several of the phrases and as I said, am listening again to the whole book because the language is so beautiful.

I've listed Kingslover has my favorite author since I read The Bean Trees in college and now I remember exactly why. She combines a deep message with a great story line and wraps it in lyrical prose. Love it!
