About the Author

Dr Qiuyu Wang is a Senior Research Fellow at the Manchester Metropolitan University. Her major research interest is in cancer biology and stem cell biology. She teaches many aspects of Molecular and Cellular Biology, and is co-editor of Biomedical Science Practice (OUP, 2010).

Dr Chris Smith was formerly a Senior Lecturer in Biochemistry at the Manchester Metropolitan University, where he taught biochemistry and cell and molecular biology at all levels. He has written and edited several undergraduate texts, including contributions to Biomedical Science Practice (OUP, 2010) and Clinical Biochemistry (OUP, 2010).
