Wildflowers

Bringing the world of North American wildflowers to your fingertips, FANDEX presents a field guide that's as beautiful, practical and intriguing as the flowers themselves. Die-cut images are sharp, the colors true, shapes life-like—identification is guaranteed. Plus a quick chart of vital stats includes family name, life cycle, range, and habitat. Accompanying entries cover the history and cultural significance of each plant—Columbine's use as a love charm, the wars fought over Wild Hyacinth, the medicinal power of White Sage—and detail its use in the home garden.
  • 50 DIE-CUT CARDS
  • FULL COLOR THROUGHOUT
  • KNOWLEDGE AT YOUR FINGERTIPS
  • FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

Combining 50 individually die-cut cards with full-color illustrations, plus hundreds of intriguing facts, stories, statistics, and trivia, Fandex is the newest breakthrough in information-packed, family publishing.

Wildflowers features large, bright die-cuts — often as big as the flower or even bigger — and true-to-life colors, making this a foolproof way to identify 47 of North America's wildflowers.

For kids who are learning it all for the first time, and grown-ups who want to get it straight, Fandex puts knowledge at your fingertips.

Synopsis:

WITCHES HERB, QUEEN OF THE MEADOW, RATTLESNAKE MASTER AND NODDING LADIES' TRESSES

Fandex celebrates North America's wildflowers. The favorite White Trillium, now legally protected, and rampant California Poppy, often found by the fieldful. Ohio Spiderwort, whose pale little buds open for only one day, and Common Evening Primrose, once brewed into a beverage served to fieldworkers. Plus Purple Coneflower, Orange Swallow-Wort, Red Catchfly, Black-Eyed Susan--it's every flower lover's handheld deck of knowledge.
