Homeland is the beginning of the story of Drizzt and is a must read for any fan of the realms. It details Drizzt's youth in Menzoberranzan, one of the largest drow cities. You can feel the conflict Drizzt has as he tries to live within his society but is sickened by the pervasive evil. R.A. Salvatore brilliantly brings this story to life with his typically deep characters and immersive plot lines.

This book was a very thrilling book to read. I literally couldn't bring myself to stop until it was finished. the excitement between Drizzt Do'Urden and the rest of the drow of Menzoberranzan is catching. Salvatore made a keeper, Homeland. I can't wait to read Exile.
