Gripping drama which intertwines historical events with compelling human interaction. That's a summary. The lives of Germans (Jew and Non-Jew) are presented during a time when Hitlers' regime begins to take action against "undesirables". The German take-over of Austria is seen through various eyes, including an American reporter, a family of Germans and Austrians and members of Hitler's Army, some of whom are members of its' "fifth column". This is must reading. Period.
