Publisher Comments:

This hilarious, highly original series, which so astutely captures the odd preoccupations of middle schoolers, will appeal to the many fans of the Origami Yoda series and such gross-out classics as How to Eat Fried Worms and Freckle Juice.

Lyle Hertzog and his friends Marilla and Dave expect to spend another dull holiday passing time at the local Qwikpick convenience store. Then an article in their hometown paper catches their eyeandmdash;the sludge fountain at the nearby sewage plant is being retired. With this news, the three friends decide theyandrsquo;re not just normal kids who donandrsquo;t have Christmas plans: theyandrsquo;re the Qwikpick Adventure Society. Their first mission: to see the andldquo;poop fountainandrdquo; before it fades from glory.

Told with the mix of journal entries, doodles, and handwritten notes that has made the Origami Yoda books so appealing, this is another great series from a master chronicler of middle school.

Praise for The Qwikpick Papers

andquot;Laugh-out-loud high jinks tailormade for reluctant readers. A hilarious and well- designed update.andquot;

Review:

"If the Origami Yoda books hint that Angleberger is just a kid at heart, this madcap adventure seals the deal. Set in the town of Hairsprinkle, it stars seventh-grader Lenny Flem Jr., whose life is upended when his best friend, Casper Bengue, buys a fancy suit and an expensive fake mustache: the Heidelberg Handlebar #7. Soon after, billion-dollar robberies start occurring in Hair-sprinkle, and a mysterious man named Fako Mustacho is quickly becoming a local celebrity — one with major political aspirations. Lenny is sure Casper is behind it all, but with the population under the spell of Fako Mustacho's fabulous mustache, it's up to Lenny and TV star Jodie O'Rodeo (think Hannah Montana crossed with Sandy the squirrel from SpongeBob SquarePants) to save the day. And, naturally, a crisis caused by a fake mustache can only be fixed with gag items like a Nasal Gun and an Ultra-Sticky-Stretchy Grabber Hand. There's no twist too goofy or absurd as Angle-berger pulls out all the stops for this unabashedly silly story. Ages 8 — 12. Agent: Caryn Wiseman, Andrea Brown Literary Agency." Synopsis:

When Baby Billy is born with a mustache, his parents have to figure out if it's a good-guy mustache or a bad-guy mustache in this hilarious picture book comedy!

Synopsis:

When Joules and Kevin Rockmanand#8217;s parents drop them off at Camp Whatsitooya on their way to an International Spamathon, the twins expect a summer of marshmallows, campfires, and canoe trips. What they do not expect is to defend the earth from an invasion of sugar-addicted, murderous, seven-foot-tall rabbits from another galaxy. Happily, the Rockman twins, veteran watchers of the Late, Late, Late Creepy Show for Insomniacs, are unusually well-prepared for dealing with monstrous beings from outer space. If only their fellow campers were so lucky.

Andrea Beaty, author of several very funny picture books and a mysterious novel, here reaches new heights of hilarity and verbal dexterity in a novel sure to become a campand#151;ba-dum-dumand#151;classic.

Synopsis:

Lyle Hertzog and his friends Marilla and Dave are the Qwikpick Adventure Society, three kids who seek out adventure in their seemingly quiet hometown of Crickenburg. On the hunt for their next big adventureandmdash;something to top the Fountain of Poop, if thatandrsquo;s even possibleandmdash;the kids overhear a construction worker telling his buddies about a rat with a human face he saw in the basement of an old research facility. The decision is unanimous: the next adventure for the Qwikpick Society is on! But when their trip to find the rat doesnandrsquo;t go quite as expected, the trio gets in big trouble. Will the second adventure for the Qwikpick Society also be their last?
