Kebra Nagast: La Biblia Secreta Rastafari (El Observatorio)

Kebra Nagast: La Biblia Secreta Rastafari (El Observatorio) Cover

Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

The Kebra Nagast, Ethiopian ancient text, isconsidered a holy book not only in Africa, by Orthodox Christians, but also by Caribbean and worldwide Rastafarians because it documents the lineage of the Ethiopian monarchs, asserting that they descend directly from King Davids line, which Jesus also belonged to. In fact, in Amharic, “Kebra Nagast” means “The Glory of Kings”since this secret Bible tells the love story between King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba. They had a son, named Menelik I who was bound to be proclaimed Emperor and to move the Ark of the Covenant from Jerusalem to Ethiopia, where it is says it still remains. According to the Rastafarians, the Kebra Nagast not only explains how the Ethiopians became the new people elected by God, but also predicts that the last King of Ethiopia, Negus Haile Selassie I, is God personified the “Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah” mentioned in the Bible prophecy. “Stopweeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals.”
