It covers resources and climate. the needs of a building and its occupants, the wider questions raised by the role of energy in society and the energy system. It then considers in more detail, energy conversions systems available (solar, wind, biomass, natural gas, heat pump technology, small-scale combined heat and power, storage systems). The book concludes by looking at the elements of a building and how they can be modified and improved. While focusing on the position in Sweden, much of the content is equally applicable in any country with high energy use in buildings.
