Back off, Twilight, here comes a true vampire. Not only does Shreiber bring out the best of tradtional vampire tales, she makes them sexy. This series is adorable, dark, and sexy, yet friendly enough for my nine year old sister to read. This story plays with the dark side of ones imagination and makes you wish you had your own Alexander. Raven can relate to any misfit or just lonely girl out there and give them hope. Why can't we all dream of our own Knight of Night? Just minus the fangs....maybe

Every since she was little Raven has loved the supernatural, in particular vampires! This (plus her gothic dressing habits) has made her an outsider in her town and even her family. But when a family finally moves into an old mansion nearby she is delighted by the new and eccentric household, she is charmed by exactly what horrifies the rest of town. In fact she thinks it might be possible that they are real-life vampires.
I picked this up in great shape for $0.20 at the Salvation Army, thinking that although it looked extremely stupid it might be good for a laugh. It's a good thing that was all I was expecting, because that is exactly what I got. Mary-Sues and cliches run rampant, in fact that is pretty much all there is! I alternately rolled my eyes, sneered and laughed at how ridiculous the whole book was. If you have some time to kill and need something mindless this is good.

Also one of my favorite vampire books ever! Alexander is my dream guy! Georgous, goth, sweet, and awesome! I wish I could find a hot gothic vampire guy to fall in love with.....*sigh* ........Raven is cool too. Her uniqueness and dont-care-what-you-think attitude rocks!! They make such a cute couple!!

"Publishers Weekly Review"
by Publishers Weekly,
"'Readers don't have to share goth girl Raven's passion for vampire lore to appreciate her misadventures in Dullsville,' according to PW. 'The girl's ill-fated flirtation will bring more laughs than heartache.' Ages 12-up." Publishers Weekly (Copyright Reed Business Information, Inc.)
Raven tries to shield her younger brother from the menacing Valentine Maxwell, even as she yearns to attend the prom with her immortal love, Alexander.
by Harper Collins,
The mansion on top of Benson Hill has been empty and boarded up for years. But a new family has moved in. A family that never ventures out during the day. Who are these creepy people — especially the handsome, dark, and elusive Alexander Sterling? Or rather, what are they? Could the town gossip actually be true? Are they vampires?
Raven, who secretly covets a vampire kiss, both at the risk of her own mortality and Alexander's loving trust, is dying to uncover the truth.
In a hip, sexy romance for young teens, Schreiber tells an intriguing story about an unusual first love when a girl meets a particularly toothy new guy in town.
