This book is a great story for almost any age. The way Firepaw trusted Thunderclan to take him in and give him a home. How he uncovered dark secrets and what he through to portect his new family. Anyone can learn a lesson about family, friends, trust and hope from this book. I have this book a few times and it's still amazing each time. It puts the purr in purfect.

Something wrestles in the undergrowth, your heart beats faster and faster until you can hardly control your fear. This is life for Firepaw, a young male cat that had dreamed of adventure in the forest before meeting the cats of Thunderclan. Before, he was a ''kitty-pet'' for the Two-legs, but now he has been taken in by the Thunderclan to become a Warrior. I think this book is a great read for readers that love cats, fiction, and adventure. This book really makes you wonder what might haunt the family cat?

An excellent beginning to the series that engages the imagination. This has to be one of the best series of its type out there, very well written and engaging. I highly recommend these books to anyone who likes cats, the wild, and (of course) reading.

by Publishers Weekly,
"[T]he first exciting installment....Certain to please any young reader who has ever wondered what dreams of grandeur may haunt the family cat."
by Kirkus Reviews,
"Hunter debuts with a suspenseful animal adventure that will leave readers eyeing Puss a bit nervously....Teen readers will readily identify with Firepaw's strenuous efforts to fit into the group...and rejoice at the promised sequel."
"[S]pine-tingling....Intelligence notwithstanding, the cat characters are true to their feline nature, making this sure to appeal to fans of Clare Bell's long-popular Ratha's Creature (1983)...and also to followers of Brian Jacques' ongoing Redwall series."
by School Library Journal,
"The author has created an intriguing world with an intricate structure and mythology, and an engaging young hero....This is not as elegantly written as Brian Jacques's Redwall series, but it's another option for fans of animal adventure/fantasy stories."
by Harper Collins,
