A great second installment of the trilogy. Though not as gripping as "Divergent" it does set up the third book beautifully. Though I have numerous other books that need reading I still make time to read this book over again and again.

This is a great second chapter in the trilogy. Lots of action and surprises. I can't wait for the final book.

was a good read, there are some flaws in the story and writing. But for a enjoyable read can over look these. Probably a 4.5 rating but can't do fractional points here.

This trilogy was amazing, especially Divergent the second book. I couldn't put in down. I would recommend it to anyone who liked Hunger Games. So thought provoking. Can't wait to read it a second time.

Product details 544 pages Katherine Tegen Books - English 9780062024046 Reviews:
"Publishers Weekly Review" by , "Roth knows how to write. So even though this second book of the trilogy that began with Divergent feels like a necessary bridge between the haunting story she created in book one and the hinted-at chaos of book three, readers will be quick to forgive. Tris, reeling from the loss of her parents and guilt-ridden over having shot her best friend, must escape the Erudite faction's horrific takeover by fleeing first to Amity and then Candor. Reluctantly, she joins forces with the 'factionless' to defeat Erudite. As stubborn and self-destructive as ever, Tris butts heads with Tobias and tests everyone's (perhaps even readers') patience. Roth keeps every chapter action-packed, moving Tris tantalizingly close to learning the secret her parents were fighting to unleash. The author has a subtle way of pulling readers into a scene ('The outside air...smells green, the way a leaf does when you tear it in half'), and the novel's love story, intricate plot, and unforgettable setting work in concert to deliver a novel that will rivet fans of the first book. Ages 14 – up. Agent: Joanna Volpe, Nancy Coffey Literary and Media Representation." Publishers Weekly Copyright PWxyz, LLC. All rights reserved.
"Review" by , "The depth and richness of Beatrice herself make this an accessible option for both sci-fi buffs and realistic fiction fans."
"Review" by , "This gritty, paranoid world is built with careful details and intriguing scope. Fans snared by the ratcheting suspense will be unable to resist speculating on their own factional allegiance. Guaranteed to fly off the shelves."
"Review" by , "This is one fast-paced read that sticks in your head for days after you put it down, both because of its video-game-like scenes and its thought-provoking premise."
