With print slowly dying out and electronic publishing (ie. Nooks, Kindles, and iPads...Oh my!) climbing to the top, it is so refreshing to have this edition come to fruition. It's a real gem!

Two words: IN. LOVE. I am so infatuated by this tale! In fact my husband and I secretly escape after our wee one goes to bed and at night to this magical place... I would love a copy of this special edition!!!

Presentation wise it looks quite nice. However I was a tad surprised that the copyright page inside of the book was nearly identical to the one inside the standard copy I already own. Same ISBN number, and it appears to be a tenth printing. Something for collectors to keep in mind.

If you are considering a limited edition then I will assume you know what the book is about and confine my comments to the production values of this outstanding, signed and limited volume. I was surprised at the quality of the book which exceeded my expectations. One thing that I expected was a high print run. But my book is numbered 122/500 and 500, as any book collector will tell you, is a very desirable print run. The tipped-in and signed illustration is in a mylar covering which is a nice, protective touch. The look and feel of the stamped boards and the matching slipcase is equivalent to that of other limited editions I own (of other titles of course) that cost hundreds of dollars more. The actual signatures are neat, readable and positioned nicely, they don't look rushed. (Sometimes I think some authors approach limited edition signings the way I used to hate writing "I will do better" in school for 500 lines.) Oh, and don't forget the included bookmark that is impregnated with flower seeds to start a garden! Overall, if you love WILDWOOD and you love limited editions, if you collect and prize your books then this is more then just an excellent value. It's a once-in-a-lifetime and affordable opportunity. Go for it!

"Review" by , "Wildwood is a beautiful object and a beautiful read. One half fairy tale, one half coming of age story, one half unrepentantly gorgeous work of art, this book is overflowing with gifts."
"Review" by , "Dark and whimsical, with a true and uncanny sense of otherworldliness, Wildwood is the heir to a great tradition of stories of wild childhood adventure. It snatched me up and carried me off into a world I didn't want to leave."
"Review" by , "A satisfying blend of fantasy, adventure story, eco-fable and political satire with broad appeal; especially recommended for preteen boys."
"Review" by , "This book is like the wild, strange forest it describes. It is full of suspense and danger and frightening things the world has never seen, and once I stepped inside I never wanted to leave."
"Review" by , "Meloy has an immediately recognizable verbal style and creates a fully realized fantasy world....Ellis's illustrations perfectly capture the original world and contribute to the feel of an instant timeless classic. Further adventures in Wildwood cannot come quickly enough."
