For this special hardcover edition, two new appendixes on locales and standard library exception safety (also available at www.research.att.com/~bs/) have been added. The result is complete, authoritative coverage of the C++ language, its standard library, and key design techniques. Based on the ANSI/ISO C++ standard, The C++ Programming Language provides current and comprehensive coverage of all C++ language features and standard library components. For example:

Book News Annotation:The inventor of the C++ language explains the language, its standard
library, and key design techniques, for both novice and experienced
C++ programmers. C++ is presented independent of any particular
implementation, and tutorial chapters present language constructs and
concepts in a bottom up order. Includes chapter exercises and lists
of tips. Layout is dense, not reader friendly. This third edition
reflects the evolution of C++, and contains more material for novices.
