As a fan of all things Japanese, Memoirs of a Geisha left a lasting impression in my mind. This is one of the rare books that I could read over and over again and never grow tired. It is the story of a young Japanese girl who is sold to a Geisha House in order to help her family survive. You see the young girl blossom into a beautiful Geisha over time and it pulls at your heartstrings. I believe that Memoirs of a Geisha should definitely win the book of the decade.

Emotionally captivating and gripping novel, one of those books that keeps you up all night. Full of pathos and joy. Well-researched and detailed view of a world gone by.
