I ended up reading this entire trilogy in about a months time, and I loved every second of it. In fact, I'm re reading the series now! This was truly the best thing I've read in 2012.

This is a gripping trilogy that I couldn't put down! An unexpected plus was the glimpse into the Norwegian justice system. I'm not generally into crime thrillers but these books were well worth it. I'm just sad we won't be reading any more from him...

This historical fiction thriller took me on an adventure through the woodlands of rural Sweden to the busy streets of Stockholm, while solving the disappearance of an heir to one of the wealthiest fortunes, examining the everyday workings of the polictics and secret service involvement behind a coverup and the conflicts of the journalistic organizations.
Stieg Larsson's characters are not only complex, but took me on a journey into the minds of the pscyopath ,career driven adrealine addicted journalists and post WWII high government officals, to the elite technology wizards and hackers. Brutality, sex, secrets and love are spread like a smorgasboard in their everyday lives on the way to search for truth. Can be very graphic at times, so definitely for older readers.
Good and evil await you at every turning page - inviting you to bare witness to one more challange on the road to revenge and justice.

The first book started kind of slow but in to the 3rd chapter, I was hooked. My husband, who never reads, even loved these books. They are not for the naive...and I wouldn't recommend them for young adults/teens because they are graphic and sexual...darkly so. But the plot of each book is fantastic, the characters are well developed and interesting, and they really leave you wanting more. I also love that the setting is Sweden...when on earth have you ever read anything so riveting that takes place in Sweden?

"Synopsis" by , Readers all across America are talking about Stieg Larsson’s #1 best-selling trilogy—The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest—which has more than 12 million copies in print.

Now, just in time for the holidays: a deluxe, slip-cased set of the three hardcover novels—each unjacketed, bound in full cloth and uniquely stamped, with maps and individual full-color endpapers—as well as On Stieg Larsson, a previously unpublished collection of essays about and correspondence with the author.
