Jo Nesbø is a musician, songwriter, economist, and author. He has won the Glass Key Award for best Nordic crime novel. His other Harry Hole novels include The Redbreast, Nemesis, The Devil's Star, The Snowman, and The Leopard. He lives in Oslo. Translated from the Norwegian by Don Bartlett.

This book kept me turning the pages, like past books by the same author. The events of the book were surprising and shocking regarding characters past readers are familiar with.

Harry Hole is back in form in this novel. Although I found it confusing at times, I really enjoyed the story line. When I got close to the end everything came together. I couldn't put this book down and can't wait for Nesbo's next thriller to come out.

Having read all the books Sheldon has written, you feel no other book, no other author can do justice to mystery, thriller or crime the way he did. Having picked up The Phantom and now after reading the book, I know how wrong I was. This man is a genius. This book is the ninth in what essentially is the Harry Hole series. Now I had no idea that such a man existed who is such a terrific writer.
