My sister slept with the light on until she was 27. She rightfully blames me. I would leap out of closets with my hands made into claws. I would...

When I was reading this book I was commenting out loud so much ("oh wow", "no way" "oh my gosh", things like that) that my fiance picked it up when I stepped out of the room and couldn't put it down! I wasn't even done with the book yet, so I was ancy to get my turn!
This is the best book on diet and nutrition that I have ever read, and the best non-fiction book I read in 2011. I have read many books in this category, and none have been as well researched and compelling as this one. It was informative, and at times shocking. Dr. Fuhrman has a way of getting information across that makes you want to take action for your own health. Maybe because he respects our intelligence and knows we're smart enough to handle and digest solid information, not the trite unresearched pablum that's usually available in this category.
My fiance and I are making changes in our diet, having fun with it, and are starting to feel a whole lot better as a result. You're doing yourself a favor by reading this book.

"Publishers Weekly Review"
by Publishers Weekly,
"In this new edition, which incorporates the latest scientific nutritional data, Fuhrman's restrictive diet plan is designed for clinically overweight people who suffer from a spectrum of lifestyle/obesity-induced conditions like diabetes and heart disease and need to drop a significant amount of weight fast — about 20 pounds in the first six weeks. The basis of Fuhrman's program is Nutrient Density, expressed by the simple formula health equals nutrients divided by calories. Fuhrman's 'secret' to optimum health and permanent weight control is giving the body only what it needs. An aggressive six-week vegetarian plan segues into a regimen that includes a limited amount of animal products, like lean fish or egg whites once a week. Although proven and sound, this guidebook is not for someone who wants to lose those last 10 pounds or fit into her wedding dress; this is a serious undertaking for dieters whose umpteen previous efforts have failed and whose health is endangered. "Synopsis"
by Ingram,
Fuhrman presents a revolutionary new diet that has saved the lives of dangerously overweight individuals by letting them eat more of the right foods that can help anyone lose weight, from a quick 10 pounds to 40, 50 or more.
"Synopsis"
by Ingram,
Dr. Joel Fuhrman's revolutionary diet is not about willpower, it is about knowledge. Eat to Live offers a healthy, effective, and scientifically proven Six-Week Plan for shedding a radical amount of weight quickly. The key to the program's success is simple: health = nutrients: calories When the ratio of nutrients to calories in the food you eat is high, fat melts away. The more nutrient-dense food you consume, the more you will be satisfied with fewer calories and the less you will crave fat and high-calorie foods. Eat to Live will help you live longer, reduce your need for medications, and improve your overall health dramatically. It is a book that will change the way you want to eat. Most of all, though, Eat to Live will enable you to lose more weight than you ever thought possible.
