I must admit that when I was searching for a new series to read and I stumbled upon this book I was a little hesitant. I haven't seen and/or read many books within this genre that were written by a man and were truly engaging. I am so glad to have taken a chance on this author because all three Iron Druid books up to this point have been absolutely amazing. I was so enthralled with the characters, setting, everything that I could not put the books down. Plus the fact that there is an actual dog in the book that acts like a dog (no pampered pooches whose feet never touch the ground here) was very nice to see. I have always admired the Irish Wolfhound and well pretty much any canine that dealt with wolves and or looked wolfish (like my beloved Keeshonden).

If you are thinking about getting this book, do so, you won't be sorry!

This book was absolutely amazing! I could not put the book down. The characters are great with fast and witty dialogue, with quirky modern references. This is a most read for anyone who likes urban fantasy or just a good read!

The last of the Druids is in our modern world fighting evil when he has to and making herbal decoctions at his bookstore when he isn't. So entertaining and well written, once you read this you will have to get the rest of the books in the series.

I've not read a book this entertaining in a mort of years. No, really. A very likeable lead character with lots of fine friends and a whole new kind of story. After reading this one (and the other 2, Hexed and Hammered, that compromise the initial offering from Mr. Hearne), I immediately reread them and enjoyed them just as much or more on the second read. I haven't done that in at least 20 years and some 2000+ books. Not to be missed.

I really enjoyed this book! It's a fresh take on supernatural fantasy. The protagonist is believable and fun. Have to say this is the best of the new books I've read this year. I also enjoyed the next two books in the series and look forward to more.
