Publisher Comments:

I used to think my sister and I were just two nice southern girls who’d get married in a few years and settle down to a quiet life. Then I discovered that Alina and I descend, not from good wholesome southern stock, but from an ancient Celtic bloodline of powerful sidhe-seers, people who can see the Fae. Not only can I see the terrifying otherworldly race, but I can sense the sacred Fae relics that hold the deadliest of their magic.

When my sister was found dead in a trash-filled alley in Dublin, I came over to get answers. Now all I want is revenge. And after everything I’ve learned about myself, I know I have the power to get it….

MacKayla Lane’s ordinary life underwent a complete makeover when she landed on Ireland’s shores and was plunged into a world of deadly sorcery and ancient secrets.

In her fight to stay alive, Mac must find the Sinsar Dubh–a million-year-old book of the blackest magic imaginable, which holds the key to power over both the worlds of the Fae and of Man. Pursued by Fae assassins, surrounded by mysterious figures she knows she cannot trust, Mac finds herself torn between two deadly and irresistible men: V’lane, the insatiable Fae who can turn sensual arousal into an obsession for any woman, and the ever-inscrutable Jericho Barrons, a man as alluring as he is mysterious.

For centuries the shadowy realm of the Fae has coexisted with that of humans. Now the walls between the two are coming down, and Mac is the only thing that stands between them.…

Review:

"Monig's latest feverish Fae dispatch (after Darkfever) finds that in Dublin 'the walls are coming down between Man and Faery.' That means that the Buffy-like services of MacKayla Lane — the 22-year-old Georgia-born sidhe-seer (or one who can see the Fae) and slayer — are required. Mac is determined to kick the nasties back to faeryland and to avenge her sister Alina's murder by the Fae's dark Lord Master. She's also seeking the sinister Sinsar Dubh, a book of black magic. Jericho Barrons, Mac's enigmatic protector, is a purveyor of books and antiquities (and of course, is a major hunk). As Mac takes direction from Jericho, she must resist the sexy dangers of V'lane, a death-by-sex Fae, and learn about her true family of Irish sidhe-seers. Moning's delectable Mac is breathlessly appealing, and the wild perils she must endure are peppered with endless conundrums. The results are addictively dark, erotic and even shocking." Review:

“Spiced with a subtle yet delightfully sharp sense of humor … delectably dark and sexy.”—Chicago Tribune

You know the saying, “If You’re Lucky Enough To Be Irish…You’re Lucky Enough”. Perhaps Ms. MacKayla Lane should adopt this motto, for she herself is an adopted Lassie from the Emerald Isle just beginning to accept the fact of who, and more importantly, what she is. We follow MacKayla Lane, a sidhe-seer, to Ireland on a mission to avenge her sister’s death and to fulfill her dying request, to find the Sinsar-Dubh, the million-year-old book that goes beyond mere witchery and is downright dangerously powerful. “Mac’s” ability to sense what we cannot helps her, and her cohort/employer, Jerricho Barrons, come closer to the answers she seeks. Along the way, what they encounter is almost more than Mac can bear, but knows she must continue to probe the deepest darkest corners of Man and Fae before The Lord Master, who’s also responsible for the death of her sister, can bring any more malicious terror to the world of Man, which has already begun. This second book in the series finds a stronger, fiercer, and a more daring Mac sharpening her unusual characteristic traits, and when offered help she’s naturally suspicious of everyone and everything, as she very well should be. However, we meet a few new characters that will either hinder Mac or help her in her quest with what she needs and what needs to be done. Will she be able to face and defeat the nightmarish monsters that no mere man can conjure up in order to save us? Or will she succumb to living a life far worse than a mortal death? Find out in this exciting second book in Karen Marie Moning’s Fever series.
