Hilarious! I had no doubt it would be funny before I began to read it, but it really exceeded my expectations. It's been months since I read it and I still find myself thinking of various stories in it. Probably one of my favorites was the roast of Nelson Mandela. It is so unexpected and hilarious.

This book is hilarious - for the most part; and I'm willing to forgive the author's occasional use of obscene language. Novak shows the ability to make the ridiculously inane things incredibly funny. For example his "No one goes to Heaven to see Dan Fogelberg," is a brilliant satire.

I guess knowing B.J. was a writer on The Office should have already tipped me off to him being a funny guy, but this book of short stories cemented it for me. All the stories were entertaining and quite a number of them were pretty damn funny. I actually got to see him read in my hometown's bookstore (Powell's) and his delivery of the stories was excellent and actually made me want to check out the audio book (something I usually don't do).

Favorites include: "The Rematch", "Constructive Criticism", "If You Love Something", "The Market was Down", "Kindness Among Cakes", "Regret is Just Perfectionism Plus Time", and "J.C. Audetat, Translator of Don Quixote".

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Novak's book wouldn't be a memoir. Not that it wouldn't be interesting, I'm sure he has more than a few quirky stories to tell, but because I was much more intrigued by his fiction.

"Review" by , "Everyone knew that B.J. Novak was smart and sexy, but funny, too!? Wow, screw that guy. I haven't laughed at words this hard since I read."
"Review" by , "One More Thing is a funny and inventive debut collection, infused with a deadpan absurdist wit reminiscent of Woody Allen and Ian Frazier. B.J. Novak's stories are sly and playful, but they can pack a real emotional wallop."
"Review" by , "I am so relieved that I had not read B.J.'s book before I worked with him. I would just have spent every day at his feet instead of doing my job."
"Review" by , "Dark and hilarious, like the fudge Grandma used to make during her 'special' period. Deliciously funny!"
"Review" by , "B.J. blew me away. He just keeps kicking short fiction in the rear, making it run ahead clutching its ass, and then he runs up and kicks it some more, and the result is one of the most aggressively, insanely awesome debuts in a while."
