This book is an amazing exploration of what it is to start to tell the story of a human life. Every chapter is the narrator's attempt at the first chapter of her memoir. Alameddine is an unsung master of story, prose, and insight into what it is to be human. This book is a brilliant statement about continuing to attempt to tell and in doing that, you will find your voice.
