One of my favorite childhood memories is reading this book with my mother. We would laugh at the pictures and the storyline of the poor baby bird who searches for his mother. Wonderful illustrations and a sweet story, this is a must read for any mom and child.

Every now and then I'll encounter a parent who doesn't know this book. Please read it to your toddler. I remember clearly the giggles and head shakes of my (now grown-up) son as we read all the crazy ideas a baby bird has about who/what his mother might be. I worried about a mother who would leave him to hatch all alone!
My son enjoyed other PD Eastman books, but this is far and away the one I'd be sure to have on my child's bookshelf.
